Dual Explorer ("the App") is a dual-panel file manager for Windows. This privacy policy describes what user data we collect, how we use it, and how we store it.

1. Data We Collect

Short version: Dual Explorer does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data. Everything stays on your device.

2. Local Data

The App stores the following data locally on your device to provide its functionality:

Session state: Last opened folders, panel layout, and view mode preferences.
User preferences: Theme selection, custom hotkeys, zoom level.
File tags & metadata: Color tags, emoji icons, and comments you assign to files and folders.
Pinned folders: Your favorite folders saved for quick access.

This data is stored only on your device and is never transmitted to any server.

3. File Access

The App accesses files and folders on your local file system to provide file management functionality (browsing, copying, moving, renaming, deleting, compressing, and extracting). File operations are performed locally and no file content is ever sent to external servers.

4. Data We Do NOT Collect

We do not collect your name, email, IP address, or any personal information.
We do not track your usage, browsing activity, or file access patterns.
We do not use cookies, analytics services, advertising networks, or tracking scripts.
We do not transmit any data to our servers or any third party.
We do not sell, rent, or trade any user data.

5. Third-Party Services

The App does not integrate with any third-party services, APIs, or cloud platforms. All functionality runs entirely on your device.

6. Data Deletion

Uninstalling the App removes all locally stored preferences and data. No server-side data exists to delete.

7. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
