Night Mode — Chrome Extension
Last updated: March 29, 2026
Night Mode is a Chrome Extension that intelligently applies dark mode to any website using smart color inversion. This policy explains what data we collect and how we use it.
1. Settings and preferences
Your extension settings (ON/OFF state and exclude list) are stored locally and synced through your Chrome account via chrome.storage. We do not have access to these settings.
All data is stored locally in your browser and synced via your Chrome account. We do not operate any server-side storage. The extension does not communicate with any external server.
We do not share any data with third parties. The extension operates entirely on your device.
We do not retain any user data. Settings persist locally until you uninstall the extension.
Uninstalling the extension removes all locally stored data (settings and preferences).
The extension injects content scripts into web pages (http and https) to enable the dark mode functionality. These scripts only apply visual CSS style changes to page elements. They do not read, collect, or transmit any page content.
The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
The extension is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
